Voyage Summary
Join the crew of Irene for a five night voyage across to the Isles of Scilly. This stunning archipelago of islands provide the perfect get away for those who enjoy deserted beaches, stunning wildlife and fabulous scenery.
Sailing Highlights
The passage from the mainland over to the Scillies takes you off the most western part of England as we round Lands End. The passage can get a little lumpy here occasionally but not for too long. We’ll pass the Wolf Rock lighthouse where it’s actually possible to land in very calm weather!
We normally make one of these passages a night sail if conditions allow. The lack of light pollution makes for some spectacular star gazing potential! Just ask your watch leader to point out some of the best.
Itinerary Details
We keep the itinerary very loose on these voyages to allow you plenty of time to explore these islands at your own pace. Some of our picks are:
Head ashore and explore some of the cultural delights. These islands have long attracted artists and creative souls and there are plenty of places to enjoy their work. Try Porthloo Studios or Glandore Gallery in Porthloo on St Mary’s as a starting point.
Head on or under the water and explore the amazing marine wildlife that these islands are home to. Island Sea Safaris offer marine wildlife safaris around St Mary’s in a powerful rib or try a glass bottom boat with Sea Quest. The more adventurous might like to get a little more ‘up close and personal’ with Scilly Seal Snorkelling from St Martins. The name tells you all you need to know!
Stay onboard and let the crew take you on a circumnavigation of the whole archipelago. The only way to say you’ve truly been around the Scillies!
