The Ship

Irene is a unique survivor from a bygone era. Built in the UK in 1907, she sailed with a rapidly dwindling fleet of British merchant vessels through two World Wars and a Great Recession, finally retiring from her trading service in 1960. She was abandoned for many years until discovered by her present owner. Captivated by her natural vitality and beauty he set about her restoration.

The Irene is now available for exclusive yacht charter in the Caribbean. Her interior has been transformed into delightful living quarters for up to ten people in comfortable air-conditioned cabins. There is a large saloon and dining area, complete with a full bar and piano, which is an excellent focal point for entertainment. The deck area is vast, boasting a huge coach roof as a sundeck - ideal for unwinding - so there is plenty of space to move around. To give you an idea of how much space there is, we once held a party - with a band - for over a hundred people

The saloon complete with full bar and piano is an excellent focal point for entertainment. It is extremely spacious and one of Irene's major assets. The large solid wood table seats ten and is ideal for a more formal dinner. A beautiful, varnished spiral staircase with polished brass treads takes you up on deck.

The deck is vast and boasts a huge coach roof as a sundeck, which is ideal for unwinding. A beautifully varnished table sits on the port side and is perfect for al fresco dining or relaxation. Solid closed in bulwarks run around the entire deck making it virtually impossible to fall over board, therefore a safe haven for young children.

The Irene provides great accommodation and a unique experience for your crewed yacht charter.

Everyone manages to find their favourite corner or hiding place on Irene. For some, it is the exhilaration of the bowsprit netting, where the sheer power of Irene under full sail treats you to jolts of refreshing sea spray. For others, it is finding a place where you can lay back and gaze at star-filled skies on balmy, peaceful evenings. Or maybe you might like watching the retreating horizon from the privacy of the whaleback, a place you can stay hidden for hours.
